{"id":11668523,"date":"2026-02-15T11:00:24","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T16:00:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/?p=11668523"},"modified":"2026-02-15T18:22:47","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T23:22:47","slug":"recipe-meat-veggie-potsticker-steamed-dumplings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/11668523\/recipe-meat-veggie-potsticker-steamed-dumplings\/","title":{"rendered":"Recipe: Meat and veggie potsticker or steamed dumplings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recipe by: Ren\u00e9e Chan, The Skript Kitchen<\/p>\n<p>Meat &amp; Veggie potsticker or steamed Dumplings<\/p>\n<p>Wrapper: (makes~ 40 wrappers)<br \/>\n1 cup of all purpose flour or bread flour<br \/>\n\u00bd Cup of boiling water<\/p>\n<p>GLUTEN FREE WRAPPER OPTION:<br \/>\n1 cup Gluten Free Ah Nui Dumpling flour (www.ahnui.com)<br \/>\n2 tsp oil (any cooking oil that is liquid in room temperature)<br \/>\n\u00bd cup boiling water<\/p>\n<p>Dough:<br \/>\nincorporate ingredients into bowl, mix and knead till smooth for about 5 mins<br \/>\nCut into small rollable pieces, roll into thin circles and separate sheets with more flour.<\/p>\n<p>Meat and veggie filling:<br \/>\n1 pound ground ground pork or Vegan protein of your choice (tofu or TVP)<br \/>\n1 Tbsp garlic minced<br \/>\n3 cups cabbage or bok choy diced finely<br \/>\n\u00bd cup diced rehydrated shiitake mushrooms (optional)<br \/>\n1 Tsp Salt<br \/>\n1 Tbsp ginger minced or 1 tsp powdered<br \/>\n1 stalk of green scallion diced<br \/>\n1 tsp salt or GF soy sauce<br \/>\n1 tsp white pepper<br \/>\n1 tsp sesame oil<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dipping Sauce :<\/strong> Ah Nui XO is great for dumplings (www.ahnui.com) or the following:<br \/>\n3 Tbsp Chin Kang black vinegar or Balsamic Vinegar with 1 Tbsp water<br \/>\n\u00bd tsp ginger Julienned<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooking<\/strong>:<br \/>\nSteamed:<br \/>\nPlace the dumplings in steamer basket lined with about 1cm of space between each dumpling over boiling water.<br \/>\nSteam covered for 10-12 minutes and serve with dipping sauce<\/p>\n<p><strong>Panseared<\/strong>:<br \/>\nIn a pan over medium heat use about 2 tbsp of cooking oil for about 20 dumplings.<br \/>\nCook potsticker until crispy and pour in about \u00bc cup water and cover with lid<br \/>\nOpen the lid after 5 minutes and allow water to evaporate.<br \/>\nServe hot with dumpling dipping sauce<br \/>\nSteam- steam for 8 mins and serve hot<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Feel free to contact us at:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.theskriptkitchen.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">https:\/\/www.theskriptkitchen.com\/<\/a><br \/>\n250 W 3rd Ave<br \/>\ninfo@theskriptkitchen.com<br \/>\n604-347-5587<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Happy Lunar New Year!
