{"id":11684793,"date":"2026-02-24T06:31:54","date_gmt":"2026-02-24T11:31:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/?p=11684793"},"modified":"2026-02-24T06:31:54","modified_gmt":"2026-02-24T11:31:54","slug":"frank-stronach-sexual-assault-trial-feb-24","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/news\/11684793\/frank-stronach-sexual-assault-trial-feb-24\/","title":{"rendered":"Defence to continue cross-examining complainant in Stronach&#8217;s sexual assault trial"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The fifth complainant to testify in <a href=\"https:\/\/globalnews.ca\/tag\/frank-stronach\">Frank Stronach&#8217;s<\/a> sexual assault trial is set to face more questions today from the businessman&#8217;s lawyer.<\/p>\n<p>Leora Shemesh began cross-examining the complainant Monday afternoon, focusing on discrepancies in dates and details the woman gave in her statements to police and what she said in court.<\/p>\n<p>Stronach, who is 93, has pleaded not guilty to 12 charges related to alleged incidents spanning the 1970s to the 1990s. All seven complainants are expected to testify.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, the woman broke into tears as she told the court that Stronach raped her inside his hotel suite in the fall of 1990.<\/p>\n<p>The woman said she kept saying no and asking him to stop but that he only grew more aggressive and forceful.<\/p>\n<p>She said it hurt and left her bleeding because she had recently given birth, adding she had bruises inside her knees from trying to keep Stronach from prying them apart.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<a \n\t\t\t\tclass=\"story-img-link\" \n\t\t\t\tdata-displayinline-featured=\"\"
