Once the pain subsides and you can talk or move your jaw, you can incorporate soft solid foods. On the third day of the surgery, you may include eggs, rice, and things like that. If it is comfortable for you to chew, gradually add some more solid foods. In case it causes pain and discomfort, switch to soft solids foods. A little bit of discomfort while eating will be felt during the initial days, but it will go away in a week.

You must include soft foods such as yogurt, mashed bananas, mashed potatoes, ice cream, smoothies, porridge, eggs, soups, and things of that sort. Make sure you do not consume hot food; only cold foods must be there on your list. Avoid consuming spicy food during the period of recovery.
